This aftermarket replacement idle air valve (IAC valve) is Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton 40hp EFI Vanguard engine. The idle air valve is mounted at the throttle body and regulates the amount of air bypassing the throttle plate during idle and deceleration. On EFI-equipped Vanguard engines, it works in conjunction with the engine control module (ECM) to maintain stable idle speed across varying load and temperature conditions. A faulty idle air valve can cause rough idle, engine stalling, or erratic RPM behavior.
