This aftermarket replacement governor spring Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton small engines used in lawn mowers, riding tractors, generators, snowblowers, and other outdoor power equipment. The governor spring connects to the throttle linkage and mechanical governor assembly, holding the throttle at the correct position while the governor responds to changes in engine load. A worn, stretched, or broken governor spring causes the engine to over-speed, run erratically, or fail to start properly. Replaces OEM part number 796260, which also supersedes earlier numbers 692208 and 260695.
