This cup-type core plug (also known as a freeze plug, expansion plug, or Welch plug) seals the sand-casting core holes in the engine block or cylinder head on Perkins-powered Fits Massey Ferguson tractors, combines, and construction/industrial machines. A leaking or corroded core plug allows coolant to escape the engine block -- replacing it restores a leak-free seal in the cooling system and protects against coolant loss and overheating. Replaces Leyland OEM part number AJR2098.
