This aftermarket replacement flywheel ring gear fits a wide range of Caterpillar (Cat) diesel engines and machines. The ring gear mounts on the flywheel and provides the teeth that engage the starter motor pinion during engine cranking. With 126 external teeth, this gear is a direct replacement for Caterpillar OEM part number 2N1599 and its alternate dash format 2N-1599.
