The rubber friction disc rides between the friction plate, bearing, and friction wheel assembly to transfer engine power to the drive wheels. When the disc wears smooth or cracks, the machine loses forward motion -- this is one of the most common drivetrain repairs on friction-drive MTD-platform snow blowers.
