This aftermarket replacement valve lock (also known as a valve collet or lock-retainer) is a cylinder head component used to secure valve spring retainers to the valve stem in Caterpillar 3114, 3116, 3126, C7, and C9 diesel engines. The valve lock seats in the groove of the valve stem and holds the spring retainer in place, maintaining proper valve train operation. Replaces Caterpillar (Cat) OEM part number 1W-2715.
