This is a new aftermarket replacement 1st-stage sun gear (Gear-Sun) for Caterpillar (Cat) hydraulic excavators. The sun gear is the central driving gear in the swing reduction planetary gearbox, transmitting rotational force from the motor through the planetary gear set to power the upper structure swing system. Wear or failure of this gear results in rough or unresponsive swing operation and should be addressed promptly to avoid further drivetrain damage.
