One New Aftermarket Replacement Intermediate Piston Ring for Caterpillar (Cat) 3116 Diesel Engine
This aftermarket replacement intermediate (second compression) piston ring fits the Caterpillar 3116 inline six-cylinder diesel engine. The intermediate ring seats in the second ring groove of the piston and works to control compression and reduce oil consumption, maintaining engine efficiency and minimizing blow-by. It is installed with the side marked "UP-2" toward the top of the piston. The Caterpillar 3116 engine was used across a wide range of Cat construction, industrial, and on-highway equipment from the late 1980s through the early 2000s.
